The aim of this generic internship project announcement is to establish a list of successful candidates for various internship positions in the Departments of the European Migrant Smuggling Centre (EMSC), Financial Crime Unit, Economic Crime Unit and the Operations Directorate Management Office within Europol Operations Directorate, focusing on one of the following areas of Europol (indicative list):

  • EMSC Operational Coordination Team;
  • JOT-Mare - Information Clearing House (ICH) Team;
  • Stakeholder Management within the Financial Crime Unit;
  • Counterfeiting Team within the Economic Crime Unit;
  • Operations Directorate Management Office.

There are currently seven (7) internship slots available. Depending on the project focus, the internship will entail some of the following tasks:

  • Project support;
  • Research and knowledge building;
  • External and internal communication;
  • Policy monitoring;
  • Open sources support;
  • Support in drafting documents;
  • Support in the organisation of events;
  • Support of internal and external information flows;
  • Planning support;
  • Ad-hoc administrative support.
Requisiti principali:
 
a. Experience (in academic or professional settings):
  • Experience in one or several of the following fields of activity (incl. study assignments):
  • Project support;
  • Stakeholder management;
  • Research assignments, such as data collection on specific topics;
  • Drafting reports, analyses, fact-sheets and other documents;
  • Supporting external and internal communication and media monitoring in public
  • or private administrative entities;
  • Organising events (e.g., trainings, seminars, conferences, meetings);
  • Working with open sources (collection, collation and analysis) and/or open-source intelligence (OSINT).
b. Subject knowledge/education:
  • Completed university studies or vocational training in the field of Public Administration, International Relations, Law or Criminology, Security studies or any other relevant field for the internship project;
  • Knowledge of the EU institutional framework and Europol's role in fighting serious and organised crime and terrorism;
  • Knowledge of research methods and media monitoring (incl. via study assignments);
  • Good understanding of event planning and organisation principles.
c. General competencies:
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing;
  • Very good time management skills and ability to work under tight deadlines/under pressure;
  • Proficient user of IT applications in general and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the internet;
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team as well as independently;
  • Ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
