The internships will be located in the Trade in Services Section, Trading Systems, Services and Creative Economy Branch, Division on International Trade and Commodities (DITC). Carrying out his/her tasks under the supervision of the Chief of the Section, the interns will perform the following functions:  

  • Assist in drafting inputs into research papers and other reports on trade in services and the creative economy.
  • Assist in drafting technical background documents and policy-oriented papers on trade in services, diversification, and the creative economy (i.e. Creative Economy Outlook 2026).
  • Assist in building datasets and analyze data with statistical tools such as Excel, STATA or R.
  • Undertake descriptive analysis and produce graphs/tables to visualize data.
  • Assist in drafting and preparing official documents, statements, presentations.
  • Assist in preparing intergovernmental meetings, side events and implementing technical assistance projects (i.e., events during the UNCTAD16 conference).
  • Attend and summarize online and/or Geneva-based in-person conferences and meetings.

 

This internship position is offered on an in-person basis and/or remotely.

Requisiti principali:
  • Applicants to the programme must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:
    • (a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
    • (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Have knowledge or interest in digital trade.
  • The candidate’s university degree must be in the area of economics, statistics, political science, development, creative economy or a related area.
  • Knowledge of Excel is desirable, knowledge of Power BI, Stata, R is an advantage.
  • Fluency oral and written in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.
